For
Canberra's 100 year anniversary the Bendigo Bank has been making small grants
of $1000 to community groups within the ACT under their Community Hero Awards.
Over 240 applications were received of which 100 were successful, although the
judges stated all were worthy.
Two ACT Rural Fire Service Brigades were awarded grants (there may
be others) and these were:
1. Rivers Brigade - for a vehicle fridge to keep drinking water cold; and
2. Guises Creek Brigade - support for the publication of a book commemorating the 25 years history of the Brigade. The book will be available in October 2013.
