Parkwood Mulch Fire

ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire and Rescue units attended a mulch fire at Canberra Sand and Gravel at Holt (Parkwood), Belconnen, on Wednesday 5 Dec 2012. The fire smouldered all day and into the night. The fire is believed to have been caused by spontaneous combustion of the mulch.

Coppins Crossing Fire

Eight ACT Rural Fire Service units and the RFS helicopter attended a grassfire located at Coppins Crossing Road, Belconnen on Sunday afternoon 2 Dec 2012.  The fire was  approximately 7 hectares in size. Photos and video courtesy of Tim Borough (GCRK20) and Martin Geenwood (Rivers 11).
